Job Description:
The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager as part of the Quality Organization. This position will be responsible for identifying, establishing, managing, and monitoring all Quality related responsibilities, requirements, and budgets respective to assigned contracts/programs. The Quality Engineer will be the focal point for all Quality related matters pertaining to the contract/program.
Essential Functions:
Identifying, assigning, and monitoring quality requirements for parts and assemblies procured from Vendors/Suppliers on assigned programs.
Monitoring performance of assigned programs, including supplier's performance, and facilitating corrective and preventative actions in order to accomplish improvement when required.
Coordinating corrective and preventative actions with customer representatives and company management.
Conducting special investigations as required resulting in a well written report(s) suitable for submission to Senior Management. Perform briefings/presentations of results as required.
Presenting Quality related data, investigation summaries, trends, and significant issues at various compliance and program review meetings as required.
Actively engage in planning, coordination, and execution of Military and/or FAA Certification efforts.
Leading or participating in Quality related projects and initiatives; but may be required to perform Quality Control or Procurement Quality activities/duties when primary inspection personnel are not available.
Some travel periodically and work some overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or other Technical Field with at least five (5) years Aerospace Quality experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered).
Aircraft Maintenance experience.
Experience with Quality and Aerospace industry standards (ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, AS9110C CMMI, etc.).
Experience with program Quality Engineering.
Experience with initial contract planning, contract requirements review and oversite.
Experience with investigating quality issues in a methodical manner ultimately resulting in a report that identifies containment, root cause, and corrective and preventative actions.
Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills for reporting and briefing Customers and Senior Leadership.
Ability to obtain Common Access Card for Government systems access.
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the U.S. Government which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Must be familiar with MS Office products.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Active Secret Clearance
C-130 Aircraft Maintenance experience
Experience with Military and FAA Certification efforts are preferred.
Experience in Inspection, Corrosion and Repair Reporting
Experience in Material Review Board, developing dispositions to nonconforming materials
Experience in Product Quality Deficiency Reporting (PQDR)
An understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) 8D Methodology
Lean Six Sigma
Familiar with DCMA INST 8210 requirements and oversite
