Job Description:
L3Harris MMG Division is seeking for a Loads & Dynamics Engineer for our onsite facility located in Waco, TX. We offer competitive benefits and a generous relocation package for those who qualify. The Loads & Dynamics Engineer will perform loads and dynamics analysis and provide test (ground and flight) support for fixed wing and rotary aircraft to determine externally applied loads, including quasi-static and dynamic loads, of primary and secondary aircraft structure.
Essential Functions:
Compiling aerodynamic data, mass properties data, and aircraft state data to support aircraft loads analysis
Calculate external loads using Matlab based tools for both full airframe and component level analyses
Develop structural design criteria data
Perform frequency response, modal, and aero elastic analyses.
Planning, support, and execution of Ground Vibration and Modal Survey Tests
Support of Flight Test as needed
Flight test data collection and reduction.
Qualifications:
BSME, BSAE, or BSCE
Must be able to travel as necessary.
Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have general computer knowledge.
Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in finite element modeling and analyses codes such as MSC PATRAN or FEMAP and MSC Nastran.
Experience in Fortran, Linux, Matlab, and other scripting languages (Visual Basic, Pearl, Python, etc.)
Knowledgeable in Military and/or commercial certification requirements.
Ground and flight test loads experience.
