Description: Function
? Set up and operate semi-automatic milling machines to perform routine and/or repetitive
machining operations on a variety of production parts comprised of various types and
forms of materials using available tapes.
Typical Responsibilities
? Follow detailed instructions, standard practices, operation sheets, tape readout sheets
and written and oral instructions to set up and perform predetermined and established
production machining operations without assistance.
? On more involved set ups receive assistance and instruction.
? Use standard and prescribed tools, fixtures, holding devices and other attachments to
set up for rough and finish machining.
? Block, clamp and shim to hold and align work piece to prevent springing, distortion or
breakage.
? Follow prescribed procedures to prepare machines for operations.
? Input operations data into control panel as required.
? Insert preset tools into spindles or tool magazine.
? Load, position and secure part.
? Make necessary machine and tool adjustments to maintain proper depth, width and
location.
? Manually control feed and speed rates as necessary.
? Change worn or broken cutters when necessary.
? Set up and perform milling, drilling, boring, threading, undercutting, tapping, reaming
and other similar standard machining operations.
? Perform similar or related duties on conventional or semi-automatic milling machines as
required.
? Check work to assure quality standards are maintained.
? Perform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level, including deburring,
polishing and part marking.
? Refer tape errors and unusual conditions or recurring difficulties to working leader or
supervision.
? Perform operator checklist as required and comply with all EH&S procedures.
? As required segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.
May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of
this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills
Basic Qualifications:
1 to 3 years experience.
Requires knowledge of decimals and fractions and ability to work from ordinary drawings and tape read-out sheets. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier height gages, calipers, bevel protractor, dial indicators, etc.
Also requires limited knowledge of milling methods, machine shop practices and tools.
May include repetitive use of specific formulas involving only arithmetical computations. Requires short trades training equivalent to special machine shop course.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
