We are seeking a self-motivated senior-level environmental Risk Assessor to join our successful team of professionals in our Environmental Services group. The Senior Risk Assessor will serve as a technical subject matter specialist and lead project teams serving a portfolio of well-established clients and projects in the public and private market sectors. Leadership responsibilities will include technical leadership through participation in industry trade organizations, conference presentations, and mentorship; management of risk assessment projects and tasks; and client relationship development and maintenance.

The successful candidate should possess a diverse environmental assessment and remediation consulting background, technical leadership in the field of risk assessment and vapor intrusion, and proficient project management skills. Demonstrated experience in the successful development and execution of human health risk assessment and vapor intrusion projects is a requirement. Experience in oversight of ecological risk assessment and development of regulatory site management strategies within CERCLA, RCRA and state regulatory programs is a plus. Existing client relationships are a plus. Some travel is required, and professional registration is preferred.
Lead project teams in the completion of human health and ecological risk assessments consistent with federal and state standards.
Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members and assist in coordinating technical training, career development and thought leadership within areas of expertise.
Assist clients in stakeholder management activities related to contaminant toxicology, vapor intrusion, and risk assessment.
Project implementation, QA/QC, project scheduling and budget management.
Some marketing responsibilities will be required and regular meeting and correspondence with clients, agencies, subcontractors or outside personnel will be required.
Lead project strategy development and preparation of risk assessment and vapor intrusion work plans and reports for CERCLA, RCRA, and other state-led programs.
Effectively balance billable and non-billable time.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, or related life science discipline or related field, from an accredited curriculum.
Minimum 8 years of related professional experience in environmental risk assessment.
Strong vapor intrusion experience preferred.
Strong understanding of and current knowledge of applicable CERCLA, RCRA and state-led regulations and regulatory programs.
Experience conducting risk assessments on emerging contaminants is preferred.
Technical leadership and project management experience is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work within a Team framework.
Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform technical project tasks, etc.) are also a prerequisite.
Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of project-related matters.
