Mid-Level IT Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
We are pleased to announce contingent openings for Mid-Level IT Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Specialists who will join our Digital Engineering Department in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in Federal marketspaces. Our Digital Engineering team plays a pivotal role in this mission, and we are seeking talented and passionate IT professionals to join our ranks.
Responsibilities:
Enhance system operations through the design, development, and sustainment of new and existing system functionality to support configuration management, automated building, automated testing, automated deployment, and automated monitoring and notification.
Ensure operations and maintenance (O&M) best practices are adhered to for cloud and on-premises environments, systems, applications and tools.
Understand the impacts of the cloud services used (including cost and performance), quantifying impacts through the entire workload lifecycle, and applying design principles and best practices to reduce these impacts.
Monitor and maintain software and hardware, ensuring proper system functionality with custom monitoring applications and tools such as Splunk and Grafana to ensure no degradation and continuity of operations to the mission.
Perform system operations functions across various Operating Systems, to include Linux (such as Redhat, CentOS, and Amazon Linux) and Windows.
Validate data that is extracted from structured and unstructured data sources, databases, and other repositories, using scripts and other automated capabilities to load data, logs, and queries.
Manage existing APIs and Application Services (AS) while identifying ways to automate existing and new processes.
Support ongoing maintenance and optimization of databases across various platforms, to include Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Support the sustainment of existing and delivery of new automated Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) pipelines, using a suite of COTS, GOTS, Java, and other tools.
Implement new system requirements, security patches, and enterprise required updates to ensure system sustainment and compliance.
Support government personnel in the creation, modification, and documentation of all system design documents, standard operating procedures, operations and maintenance manuals/procedures, software development plans, and related documentation.
Validate successful implementation of documented requirements by designing, developing, delivering, performing, and sustaining manual and automated tests (utilizing tools such as Selenium and Junit) that verify the implementation of the system and its components (including APIs, microservices, UI, etc.), monitor the operational capability of the system and its components, and gather metrics that reflect upon the performance of the system and its components.
Advise government personnel on incremental changes, system redesigns, and overall process efficiencies that could lead to system improvements.
Basic Qualifications:
You must have at least five years of experience or equivalent certifications.
You must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.
Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or similar.
AWS or Azure certifications
Scripting and automation skills are a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Effective technical writing skills to assist with policies, procedures, reporting and compliance.
A passion for technology and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.
