The Mission Operations Controller II provides control, coordination, and direction to personnel operating system assets involved in mission activity. Work performance contributes to meeting program objectives, assessing program effectiveness, and analyzing of unusual and conventional test and training problems. He/she performs with the ability to conduct a variety of test and training events under stressful conditions, in a constantly changing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Setup, operate, and monitor communication equipment, computer terminals and video displays to ensure the integrity of the processed data
.
Confirm current crypto is loaded and ready for mission support.
Rapidly isolate system malfunctions and restore to an operational status.
Adapt to a variety of nonstandard problems, which require extensive operator intervention in coordination with outside agencies.
Train new users on unique mission support equipment.
Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence.
Learn local procedures through Letters of Agreement, Memorandums of Understanding, Flight Information Publications and/or other official publications, and be able to enforce the restrictions through the customer.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. 3 to 4 years of recent experience as a Threat Command and Control Operator or a Weapons Director/Air Battle Manager.
Experience with the Command and Control of an Integrated Air Defense System
Preferred experience with any of the following systems: multi/single-channel radios, intercoms, Have Quick II/ Secure Voice radios, Digital Integrated Air Defense Simulator (DIADS), Battlespace Command and Control Center Theater (BC3-T), Link 16 Tactical Datalink Framework (TDF), Multi Source Correlation Tracker (MSCT), Range Airspace Display System (RADS), Nellis Force Tracker (NFT), Passive Detection (PD) and other communication suites (mIRC, Swift and/or Transverse).
Should possess the ability to learn USAF operational brevity code words.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI/SCI Government Security Clearance.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with other team members and those contacted while performing required duties. Ability to provide solutions/options for problems in a timely manner. Also perform basic troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Work Environment:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, prolonged sitting while using the computer and the telephone, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness.
