The Leidos Defense Systems Innovation Portfolio is seeking a talented Software Engineer - RF Systems to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex sensor and radar orientated problems. We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, we provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This position within Leidos Defense Systems Sensor Innovation Portfolio (SIP) affords engineers continued opportunities to learn and grow in technical knowledge of sensor and radar systems. The department encourages and frequently incorporates new ideas from all employees into our many sensor projects which span the entire DoD ecosystem. Opportunities for advancement into senior technical roles, as well as project or personnel management are also available.
Candidate will support the design, implementation, and integration of advanced radar technologies into new and existing sensor programs. Software development and system integration activities include, but are not limited to, high-speed data acquisition, data distribution, real-time signal processing, modular software design, integration of COTS and custom technologies into prototype sensor systems, field testing of RF sensors and systems, and CONUS/OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems.
Candidate will be assigned a variety of tasks related to the design and implementation of real-time prototype sensors. You will be exposed to a wide range of software and computer engineering technologies and will have the opportunity to learn from working directly alongside experienced engineers and have direct influence on multiple projects.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or must be in the process of achieving a higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science degree from an ABET-accredited school. Minimum 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Must have excellent teamwork skills and possess and show good fundamentals in one or more of the following:
Modern C++ development
NVIDIA CUDA GPU development / optimization
VHDL/Verilog for FPGA development
Real-time Linux and device driver development
ZeroMQ and/or other messaging frameworks
Qt GUI development
Must be willing to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama
Candidate should be able to apply these skills to the areas of radar and EW system development, implementation of digital signal processing and tracking algorithms, and field testing of sensor systems.
Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Matlab, understanding of signal processing fundamentals, such as sampling and Fourier analysis, and knowledge of collaboration and development tools such as GIT, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines are greatly valued.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
