We are currently seeking to fill a Senior Level Linux Network Administrator position with the right individual with a bachelor's degree and fifteen (15) years+ of experience. A current, active Secret clearance is required and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance if required.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Responsible for design, installation, configuration, administration, operation, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation of classified and unclassified MDDC Program systems and networks and associated equipment, devices, and software IAW applicable MDA and DoD guidance, instructions, procedures, and processes.
Ensures IT systems are fully functional for all operational and support activities hosted and serviced by the MDDC Program.
Provides essential Linux system administration support for hardware in support of the MDDC Program for classified and unclassified systems.
Ability to work with existing Linux installations as well as build new systems.
Work with vendors in support of current Linux based software installations and keep systems in compliance.
Works closely with Program Management, Information Assurance, software development, analysis groups, and end-users to understand and implement requirements necessary to MDDC Program operations and activities.
Provides guidance and support with technical expertise, instruction, and advice in relation to MDDC Program IT processes and operations based on applicable MDA and DoD security provisions, technical guidance and documented instructions to meet all MDA and customer goals.
Anticipates IT related issues and implements proactive preventive measures.
Develops, sustains, and updates documentation for Information Technology processes and procedures. Performs regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries.
Maintains IT databases and performs light programming tasks in relation to system administration needs. Researches, evaluates, and recommends new and emerging IT systems technologies to advance and support MDDC Program requirements.
Leads, trains, and supports the work of other junior staff engaged in system administration functions.
Assists with Government Furnished Equipment/Government Furnished Property (GFE/GFP) contract hardware/software maintenance, repairs, and processes.
Responsible for maintaining inventory and organization of different types of software and hardware resources. IA certification IAW DoD Instruction 8570.01M required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other technical discipline
Fifteen (15) years + of experience.An additional four (4) years experience may be substituted for degree
This position requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
Working knowledge of a wide range of datacenter technologies including: Linux Administration, Local (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN); Network protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, SMB etc.
Proven ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic enterprise environment.
Excellent organizational skills
Proficient in RHEL and CentOS
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and solid data entry skills
Ability to provide examples of being proactive and taking initiative in carrying out daily responsibilities
Ability to interact with all levels of our customer base and provide excellent customer responsiveness
Knowledge of MDA Test Activities Preferred
Must have a current, active Secret clearance OR the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US Citizenship Required) before employment can start.
