Job Description: Under general guidance and under the direction of department supervisor/manager, responsible for the assignment of work and instruction of department personnel. Responsible for maintaining production work schedules and quality standards. The selected candidate must have the ability to perform the essential duties & responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential Functions:
Under direction of supervisor, assigns work to department personnel.
Provides training and instruction to co-workers and new staff to ensure proper process or methods are followed.
Troubleshoots process related problems. Suggest and implement improvements to laboratory procedures and equipment to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Assists in meeting daily production requirement throughout process area. Communicate effectively with supervisor and team members to discuss production plans, results, and any issues encountered.
Work collaboratively with researchers and engineers to support ongoing projects and experiments.
Prepares reports and may make recommendations for procedural changes.
Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and well-maintained, following safety protocols and guidelines
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, ordering replacements as necessary
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years related experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Technical school graduate preferred (Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering).
Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in thin film deposition and characterization, is highly desirable.
Mechanically inclined including ability to use microscope and measuring tools such as calipers.
Ability to understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances.
Must have knowledge of micro or macro photo fabrication of elements.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
