As a Senior Commissioning and Energy Specialist, you'll be part of a growing Hanson environment while working on exciting and challenging large-scale projects as part of a collaborative, experienced and diverse team. This position will be responsible for all facets of the commissioning process (design review, creating tests, executing functional performance tests, writing reports) for new construction and retro-commissioning projects. In addition, there are facility condition assessments and energy audit projects for this group. The Commissioning and Energy Discipline also supports the Mechanical and Electrical Disciplines by performing design reviews and assisting with control strategies for projects. These commissioning projects are for various building types, including industrial, educational, institutional, governmental and commercial projects. This role not only includes being the task manager for projects but also supervising technical aspects of each project and the ongoing workload. This position is intended to be in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities
New and existing building commissioning and retro-commissioning
Building control systems' assessments
Provide reviews of design documents and contractor submittals
Functional test scripts
Managing commissioning meetings
Monitoring construction and witnessing system installation
Directing functional testing and ensuring all forms have been completed and signed off
Observing training of O&M personnel
Developing final reports
Post-occupancy walk through observations
Other duties as assigned
A day in the life of a Senior Commissioning and Energy Specialist
Work with team members inside and outside the Discipline to execute projects and prepare technical deliverables to meet project requirements.
Assist in forecasting technical resource needs, controlling workflow/assignments, tracking/reporting utilization and resolution of overload/underload conditions.
Provide input to the strategic planning process relative to current and future technical areas of competency, and emerging technologies and practices.
Provide technical support for proposals/pursuits, including go/no-go decisions, scoping, costing and scheduling.
Support the Discipline Manager to optimize workflow and technical assignments to balance available resources to project needs.
Engage other technical staff (both inside and outside the Discipline) to keep abreast of trends and emerging technologies/practices which may impact project efficiency, production and delivery.Work under the supervision and direction of the Hanson Commissioning and Energy Discipline Manager.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure as a professional engineer in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field with extensive experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Commissioning certification from a recognized body (ACG, BCA, ASHRAE).
Minimum of 10 years' experience in the building systems' design/construction and commissioning industry.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience
LEED accreditation (preferred).
Understanding of CxAlloy or other commissioning software platform.
Understanding of the building and energy codes.
A Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
