Position Summary: MILVETS Systems Technology, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Software Developer - Systems Software SME. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in current RHEL, Windows, and VMWare, and SAS.
Responsibilities:
Research, design, develop, and test operating systems- level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications.
Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements.
May design embedded systems software.
Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Provides technical support for implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client problems.
Provides second level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
Experience in one or more systems and architectures and associated hardware: virtualization or client/server based.
Experience in systems oversight preferred.
Capable of defining all required database administration policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and SOP.
Performs in all phases of systems development and implementation, with special emphasis on study and analysis, and testing and acceptance phases.
Performs evaluation of current IT operations in order to determine multi-year projections for personnel, hardware, and software.
Participates in hardware/software evaluations.
Supports systems analysts, as well as Government personnel to ensure that the problem has been properly identified and that the solution shall satisfy the customer's requirements.
Provides technical expertise and guidance in IT specialties not covered by other specialists.
Systems analysis in a specialized IT area(s), e.g. telecommunications, operating systems software, software/hardware integration, software validation, and verification preferred.
Capable of defining all required database administration policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and SOP.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in current RHEL, Windows, and VMWare, and SAS.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or associate degree in related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification
Certifications: Requires DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification IAT Level II. (Eg. CompTIA Sec+)
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an Active United States Department of Defense Secret clearance is required.
