We are seeking a Tactical Support Engineer to provide comprehensive system support across five key areas: Tactical Software Support, Mapping, Imagery and Geospatial Information System Support, Tactical Network Administration, Training, and Enhancement & Upgrade Support. The role involves delivering Level I (Critical/Urgent) and Level II (Routine) support as assigned by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), based on the nature of the task.
Key Responsibilities:
System Support: Administer, maintain, and install the SOMPE software suite, diagnose issues, update mission planning systems, and maintain equipment databases.
Configuration Management: Keep systems/devices current with updates and upgrades and perform on-site or shop upgrades.
Media Management: Handle cloning, imaging, and customization of mission-critical media, and offer on-call support for hardware/software issues.
Mapping and GIS Support: Maintain and update GIS servers and create custom map and imagery products.
Network Administration: Administer Mission Planning networks, troubleshoot issues, and support both secure and non-secure systems during exercises and deployments.
Training Support: Create and deliver training materials, conduct training sessions, and provide guidance on data loading techniques, including travel for on-site training as needed.
Enhancement and Upgrade Support: Research, test, and evaluate new equipment, ensure software compatibility, and maintain an information-sharing portal for mission updates.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; or Technical School Certificate related to computer systems. Equivalent technical training and experience may substitute for a degree.
Minimum of 2 years of operational experience within the last 8 years supporting the assigned Component.
Minimum of 5 years of operational experience with mission planning techniques, including preparation and checkout of flight plans for aircraft weapons systems, or planning for peacetime and wartime special operations missions.
Experience with the assigned Component's tactical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and mission guides.
Knowledgeable of assigned Component's operations and tactics.
An ACTIVE Secret Clearance with TS Eligibility is required for all locations.
