Job Description:
We are seeing a motivated individual to join our Integration and Test team as a Specialist, Systems Engineer. This position is in direct support of a US DoD Navy program centralized around the integration and testing of a large and complex electro-optical stabilized infrared system.
The individual will have the opportunity to work directly with the customer in defining, developing, and executing the plans and procedures for integration, verification, and validation testing of a DoD integrated system. This individual should have prior knowledge and experience in planning, designing, developing, and hands on execution of verification and validation testing proving compliance to customer requirements. Prior experience with MBSE (Cameo) and TestRail is preferred. They should have a strong background in hands on testing and be familiar with typical test equipment needed for optical systems and/or gimbal stabilization systems and should be familiar with higher power (kW) systems.
The successful individual will bring their passion for innovation and be able to adapt, communicate, and apply their understanding of systems development to the application at hand. They should have the ability to effectively communicate status, challenges, and blockers to the management team, and can guide and delegate tasking to more junior engineers providing clear direction and oversight.

Essential Functions:
Responsibilities include review, analysis, and understanding of program level objectives, system concept of operation, product architectures and interfaces, and subsystem equipment, functions, interfaces, and operations
Develop test requirements, methods, and test solutions from requirements flowed down as part of the systems engineering team
Design, develop, build, integrate, test, deliver, and support test sets / test enabling systems for engineering development and production programs
Perform integration & testing of complex subsystems (e.g., multi-mode multi-sensors) across all interfaces (i.e., mechanical, electrical, and software)
Develop and execute subsystem and/or system-level test plans/procedures and associated test readiness reviews
Perform test data reduction, analysis, and test reporting; analyze failure data for trends, systemic issues, and reduction/elimination of test escapements
Support development of acceptance test procedures, production test plans, and test documentation from design requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Two years or more experience in DoD Product Design, Development, test, and program execution
Two years or more experience using MS Office products including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%
Must be a United States Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Degree and experience in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Active Security Clearance
Experience with DOORs, SysML and MBSE tools such as Cameo
Aerospace / Defense or equivalent industry experience
Prior experience developing and adjusting Environmental Qualification plans with external test houses and customer involvement.
Prior experience running and coordinating environmental testing per MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461/464.
Strong electrical design and test background and experience
Strong mechanical testing background in gimbal stabilization systems
Able to effectively communicate system architecture, design, and test plans with other functions including Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Suppliers, and Customers
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills through the preparation and presentation of technical reviews and program status
Prior experience developing, defining, and writing test plans and procedures for large systems
Prior experience using TestRail for test case development and execution
Experience working programs from the design stage through qualification testing and into customer delivery with acceptance tests
Prior experience with designing and troubleshooting high power electrical systems (1kW and higher)
