Data Engineer (SQL Server & PostgreSQL Specialist)

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Data Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a team-oriented individual who has a strong desire to learn and who enjoys the challenges of solving problems and creating solutions. If you are someone with data engineering experience and who wants to learn new things and has a keen attention to detail, then this is the position for you.
Position Responsibilities:
3-5 years of data engineering experience using SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Designing, developing and maintaining database infrastructure
Creating and managing data pipelines, ensuring data quality and consistency
Collaborating with various teams to support data-driven initiatives
Integrate data from various sources into SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases
Creating stored procedures that analyze, automate, and transform data
Build and optimize workflows to support analytics, reporting and operational processes
Design and manage database schemas, tables, indexes and other data objects in SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices
Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource utilization
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and application developers to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues
Document data workflows, database structures and ETL processes
Prepare, maintain and develop documentation methods and best practices for data processes
Required Skills:
Proficiency in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization and performance tuning
Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python, Java, VB.NET or PowerShell
Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing concepts and PowerBI
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality data solutions
Other Requirements:
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc) and their data services is a plus
Knowledge of data security and compliance requirements
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Occasional travel to Seattle and elsewhere.

Ability to pass a U.S. Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the U.S. for the past three (3) years.
