Description
Leidos is currently seeking an individual to support the Occupational Health Group with occupational health equipment management, computer security, and various computer support activities at the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The Equipment Manager responsibilities at GRC will include support and management of industrial hygiene equipment and calibration, support to the organization's IT Plan and organizational networks.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform Institutional Technology Equipment Management tasks that facilitate the development and management of SMA Safety and Health Systems necessary to provide data tracking, analysis, and data processing unique to the performance of Safety and Occupational Health at Glenn Research Center (GRC).
Coordinate all calibration and repair services for SHeD equipment and instruments. Request returns and ship equipment to vendors for calibration/repair and update the Metrology Recall system. Interface with Metrology for equipment calibration.
Support and maintain lab IT equipment for the chemical laboratory.
Provide current calibration documentation to GRC Metrology website.
Maintain Occupational Health legacy databases.
Maintain Environmental Health Records equipment module with current calibration information.
Coordinate resolution of out of tolerance issues related to calibration with equipment owners and report monthly.
Report monthly on instrument status and cost estimates that are scheduled for or sent out for repair and/or calibration.
Provide recommendations for replacing out-of-date or damaged equipment as needed.
Maintain security configuration for network share area that allows secured access for users and maintain and provide network resources as needed.
Revise GRC Safety and Mission Assurance Security Plan as required.
Report monthly progress of GRC Safety and Mission Assurance Security Plan revisions and report any issues relating to organizational systems.
Support Relationship Manager as requested for resource support.
Maintain GRC Safety and Mission Assurance Security Plan for off line computers. Coordinate computers updates, replacements, and software installation.
Attend GRC security meeting as needed.Coordinate activity with GRC IT Security Office.
Provide support to the Management Integration Office activities by coordinating IT resources and handling various IT related tasks required by that office.
Coordinate Audio Visual support for SMA events as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in a scientific discipline, which includes a general chemistry background (preferred), and 5+ years of related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
Considerable knowledge and working skills in the appropriate use of technology and relevant scientific equipment to ensure accuracy and efficient performance.
Experience in analysis equipment, calibration, NIST, standards, troubleshooting instrumentation, and applying software programs to evaluate results.
Knowledge and use of computer systems, networks, security plans and typical business software (i.e., word processing and spreadsheets).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and switch between projects easily.
Solution-oriented mindset with a "yes, if" rather than "no" mentality towards supporting the client.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external organizations. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with senior management, researchers, technicians, medical services and other professionals.
Ability to write and critically review technical reports for all work conducted. Technical reports include executive summaries, process background, means/methods, results, discussions, and recommendations, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of equipment management, IT security systems and has a well-rounded knowledge of networks and computer systems.
Demonstrates working knowledge of IT security plans and has the ability to manage complex reporting requirements while working with multiple organizations.
Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of organizational computer networks and the ability to support a diverse workforce.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
