Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a driven and talented Staff Software Engineer to provide project support for cutting edge multi-physics simulation and modeling software. A demonstrated background with a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience or a master's degree in computer science or related field. ARA's Columbus office, located on OSU's west campus, is looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer in its Computational Multiphysics Group. What you'll do as a Staff Software Engineer:**
Write, test, debug, and improve software that has both national and international importance.
Work with a unique group of highly skilled and experienced mathematicians, physicists, RF/antenna engineers, and computer scientists to solve complex problems and create a modeling and simulation software.
Staff Software Engineer Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen, eligible to receive and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or a MS/Ph.D.
Able to understand, debug, and write algorithms in development languages such as C, C++, Python, FORTRAN or similar languages.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Designing and developing user facing software solutions using best practices.
Staff Software Engineer Preferences:
Familiarity with Qt or PySide to create cross platform desktop applications.
Active DoD SECRET or higher security clearance.
Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence-based algorithms.
Strong mathematical/physics foundation or experience with electromagnetic modeling and simulation.
Moderate experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
