The Advanced Design Tools (ADT) team is a software organization which develops and maintains a portfolio of engineering tools for GE Aerospace (commercial and military divisions). This portfolio covers a wide range of applications, including scientific simulation, modeling, visualization. As a member of ADT, you will develop and support new and existing tools for the purpose of further developing our tool portfolio. You will take an active role in daily development and support of our engineering design software, daily support deskside users, and collaborate with our global cross-functional ADT team to deliver and support high quality products. Some low-level binary object analysis will also be a part of this role. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for developing robust and maintainable software and can lead small projects with minimal oversight. Your contributions will be directly aligned with GE Aerospace's technology initiatives to invent the future of flight.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Maintain and develop applications in a large and historied portfolio. These applications focus on aerodynamics and heat transfer systems design.
Quickly respond to the needs of those impacted by our software products.
Support modification requests from end users.
Provide technical guidance to development teams.
Support stakeholders across the business as our products and domains interact.
Influence viable design decisions for applications and systems.
Gain stakeholder buy in for team efforts.
Routinely deploy robust solutions via our software lifecycle process.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a computer programing focus from an accredited college or university.
3+ years of professional experience with software development.
Advanced knowledge and professional experience in most if not all:
C, C++, Python, and Bash
Developing for Windows 10 and Linux commercial environments
CLI based build systems
Object Oriented and Functional Programming
Agile development environment
Best practices of design, testing, and deployment
Making and using unit and system tests
GUI & CLI development
Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
Desired Characteristics:
3+ years of professional experience with engineering software development.
Advanced knowledge and professional experience in:
Fortran 77, TCL, Perl, Batch, SQL, Rust, Java, C#, Docker
Low level binary analysis
MSVC, GCC, Intel OneAPI
Interrogating binary objects
Hex editors, gdb, VS memory analysis utilities, library manifests, etc.
Robust oral and written communication skills
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
