We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join our rapidly growing team! The Technical Specialist is considered to be a subject matter expert in our Cable Fabrication department and will perform assignments at SelectTech's Springfield facilities that are not completely standardized or prescribed, but receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. Will be responsible for following all company safety policies and regulations.
Essential Functions
Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
Performs the installation and functionally testing of electrical components and systems on per Engineering specifications, drawings and maintenance manuals ensuring a defect free system
Demonstrates effective build and repair techniques using acceptable practices including splicing, soldering and pinning of wiring
Performs and complies with engineering changes and modifications as required

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
7 years of similar experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
A willingness to learn is a must.
Possesses leadership skills.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand and automated tools
Welding skills preferred, but not required
Database maintenance with Excel preferred, but not required
Ability to read/understand computer generated prints
Knowledge of Mil-Spec components preferred, but not required
Due to Federal Contracting requirements, applicant must be a US Citizen.
May be required to qualify for a Secret Security Clearance, if necessary per contract requirements
