Range 32 ($5,873.61- $9,375.62) per month based on the 2024 Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step A ($5,873.61), Step B ($6,167.29) with 18 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience or up to Step C ($6,475.66) with 36 months of verified, paid, full-time equivalent related job experience. For purposes of salary placement, 7.5 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) of directly related coursework from a regularly accredited institution will be equivalent to one (1) year of job experience. Step C is the maximum step placement for a new hire, and this is non-negotiable at this time. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA . This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE ) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment. The Position
Under the direction of the Manager, Network and PC Services, performs a wide variety of highly specialized technical tasks to support the design, installation, and maintenance of wide area, layer 2-7 networking hardware/software. Positions in this classification support core network infrastructure subsystems to ensure all networks and internet related services are available to all district sites.
Positions in this classification provide District-wide support of multiple core infrastructure subsystems that service all campus computing needs including administrative, instructional, and contract education environments. This position may act as a lead and coordinate work with District Network Specialists with a variety of areas of technical expertise.

Desired Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Skills:
Support and maintain all components of the Mitel system including the emergency broadcasting system to ensure optimal performance.
Install and configure various network patch cabling including category 6 UTP copper and both single and multimode fiber with their various connector types.
Establish and maintain DNS internal and external naming standards, IP assignments including static IP and DHCP scopes, and IP reservations.
Establish and maintain Data Center infrastructure configurations including following department standards for building and deploying equipment racks, redundant Power Distribution Units utilizing Uninterruptible Power Supplies, and cabling plant organization.
Sensitivity and understanding of persons of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and disability backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Support information security systems including but not limited to Microsoft Defender, Security Operations Center, and self-learning AI solutions.
Support HP and Dell server infrastructure, vCenter, ESXi, Microsoft SQL , Microsoft Server 2016 (and current) including backup solutions and Disaster Recovery.
Install and support core, distribution and access networking equipment including fabric configurations.
Install and support wireless infrastructure.
Support and configure Microsoft Exchange online and email security platforms.
Deploy and support Microsoft Entra services including but not limited to Teams calling, SharePoint and Office 365.
Support Microsoft Active Directory, domain controllers, and global catalogs.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred or four years or more relevant hands-on professional IT experience.
Foreign Degree:

Conditions of Employment:
SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT :

Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the District's expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment);
Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by the I9 Employment Eligibility Verification form; AND ,
Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services located at the District Administrative Offices.
