JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Programmatic Compliance Lead and guidance of the Billing and Records Coordinator, the Billing and Records Reviewer will support with monitoring and billing procedures for VOALA programs, including all Medi-Cal programs (CalAIM, SCADP, SAPC, etc.). This position will be responsible for reviewing and auditing program documentation, billing and database practices related to contract, funder and legal requirements, as well as organization policies and initiatives for assigned programs. This position will also serve as support to the Billing and Records Coordinator.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct CQI procedures with assigned VOALA Programs:
Execute CQI procedures to ensure that program files and database entries are accurate and in accordance with all requirements and regulations.
Performs internal audit for every assigned program each fiscal year.
Strives to have all assigned VOALA programs -audit ready- for external audits.
Acquire broad knowledge of assigned program contracts and the requirements through research and continuous engagement with programs.
Perform special audits of programs with corrective action plans or as otherwise identified by CQI Director. Provide additional support to programs to ensure corrections are made and provide related training where needed.
Support programs prior to funder audits and ensure all requirements are in place.
Maintains all assigned contracts, ensuring all provisions are up to date.
Support the Billing and Records Coordinator with:
Reviewing billing claims.
Updates and maintenance of billing portals.
Developing, modifying and implementing billing procedures and related CQI procedures as needed.
Training staff on billing procedures.
Overseeing billers and program staff to ensure proper billing procedures and deadlines are met.
Running regular progress and related reports as required by Leadership and Accounting.
Overseeing billing rejections from funder to ensure billers correct in appropriate and timely manner.
Any technical and reporting issues related to billing system or funder portal.
Other duties as may be assigned by CQI Director.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor-s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (4 years of relevant experience / coursework)
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience in Electronic Health Record database operations and/or billing submissions.
2 years of experience in data-driven and/or quality assurance environment.
Experience with nonprofit organizations.
Experience with Medi-Cal programs.
