Description: Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company as an Aircraft Field Service Engineer (FSE) on our Aeronautics Field Sustainment team! This is for the Lead FSE Position located at the Edwards Air Force Base, California F-35 Developmental Test Division.
As a Nose to Tail (NTT) FSE, the preferred candidate will be a subject Matter Expert (SME) in Avionics/Mission Systems (MS). It is desired the individual also be be an emerging authority in APG/Vehicle Systems (VS).
The candidate will act as part of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) technical interface to the Edwards Air Force Base Operational Test on-site customer (both operations and maintenance) resolving issues arising from maintenance and modification activities for all matters dealing with the F-35 aircraft.
Additional responsibilities include:

Accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of aircraft discrepancies experienced in the field.

Attend maintenance meetings and debriefings to aid with rapid identification of emerging issues requiring company intervention and mitigate aircraft downtime.

Document unusual operations/maintenance issues ensuring company awareness and identify emerging failure trends.

Initiate Action Requests (ARs) and document unique operational failures/problems requiring technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions. Provide onsite assistance to company and customer personnel in writing effective ARs.

Provide customer training. Must be able to work and interact with various levels of customer leadership and maintainers, Product Support Engineers, and various F-35 enterprise support peers.

Travel required; candidates must be willing and able to deploy with customer to CONUS and OCONS, potential hazardous duty locations, including potential shipboard assignments. Long term deployments frequently required. US Department of Defense mandated vaccinations may be required.

Applicant must be able to work and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant and continued interface with customer personnel at all levels.

Direct on-site support as requested by customer, site manager, or program management. Lead and track multiple engineering efforts and provide periodic status to customer and program management.

Second shift work required, selected candidate must be willing and able to work any shift as needed.

Must be able to obtain F-35 Special Program Access. Must have at minimum a Final Secret Security Clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

3 years of experience in F-35 Mission Systems/Avionics

Previous Field Service Engineer (FSE) experience

Minimum 2 years of experience on all three variants, CTOL, CV and STOVL.

Experience communicating to Military leadership teams and Senior Leaders

Fault isolation and problem analysis experience at the sub-system level.

Technical report writing skills
-
Experience with technical drawings/schematics reading and interpretation.

Experience with engineering tools to include, but not limited to FSE Vision/VAST, PDM, VAS, JEDI, JARVIS, and CRE.

Knowledge of CATIA and System/Software Engineering Environment (S/SEE)

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $91,300 - $175,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
