Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an excellent opportunity for a Technical Publications Specialist II . As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, this individual will join other smart, talented, and dedicated professionals who pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and its customers.
This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
This position may be eligible for telecommuting after the initial training period is complete.
Venturi is a subcontractor to a company that operates, maintains, and sustains mission-critical systems to provide safe and effective launch, testing, and tracking of Department of Defense, civil, commercial, and international space lift vehicles.We support ballistic missile, guided weapon, and aeronautical tests and evaluations, as well as space situational awareness operations and experiments to defend the United States and ensure our nation's safety. Responsibilities
Create end-user documents in accordance with the company's strategies and standards.
Support publications from initiation to operational use
Identify, modify and implement technical data packages consisting of an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), engineering drawings, and Logistics Management Information (LMI), ide Technical Manual (TM) development and changes using Adobe Frame Maker, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Illustrator
Collaborate with other team members' engineers, drafters, and internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create technical publications and other required documentation
Perform in-process reviews, certifications and verifications of Technical Manuals with operators, peers, and customers
Coordinate and support Engineering in Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment. Participate in project meetings with direct contact with the Engineering and Government customer
Coordinate and handle multiple tasks and projects and provide guidance for the same to IPT members throughout the development lifecycle
Perform data and configuration management activities associated with implementation of Technical Manuals and other required documentation
Develop required Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication or English; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two (2) or more years' experience in an engineering or technical publication or related environment
Proficiency with Adobe Frame Maker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Microsoft Office applications or other Desktop Publishing Programs
Working knowledge of engineering materials, components, assemblies, computer, and peripheral hardware designs parts
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, e.g., Windchill or equivalent
Familiarity with S1000D authoring and publishing, preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
Valid U.S. Driver's License
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
May require occasional travel to remote sites
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements

Ability to perform work and resolve problems with limited supervision
Strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail with ability to proofread and edit technical documents
