Summary This GROUP SUPERINTENDENT position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, at the Group level under direct supervision of the group commander and is part of the CA 146 AW. Responsibilities THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the GROUP SUPERINTENDENT, GS-0301-11, is to serve as the principal advisor to the group commander for enlisted and other operational matters. The group superintendent provides leadership and management in organizing, training, and equipping assigned airmen (drill-status, Active Guard Reserve, Title 5 employees and Title 32 dual status technicians) in subordinate squadrons to support the Air and Space Expeditionary Forces construct. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. This position is concurrently announced with AGR VA A24-237. Only one of the announced positions will be filled. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Qualifications General Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration; Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; Experience using computer and automation systems. GROUP SUPERINTENDENT, GS-0301-11: Must have at one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions; Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures; Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations; Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
