Job Summary:
The Software Test Engineer will provide technical and operational expertise to support the software development lifecycle, including test environment design, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and implementing test plans, testcases and test procedures for a wide range of Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems and software.
Responsibilities:
Support software development lifecycle, including test environment design, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and implementing test plans, test cases and test procedures for software releases.
Perform various types of testing, including integration testing, functional testing, system testing, acceptance testing, performance testing, stress testing, load testing, smoke testing, fuzz testing, end-to-end testing, unit testing, and delta testing in both Cloud and onsite Lab Environments within NIWC PAC.
Develop comprehensive use cases, test cases, test scenarios, and software trouble reports (STR).
Analyze test result failures and collaborate with engineers to facilitate root cause investigations.
Support automation of test artifacts, test plan, test metrics, and test results using JIRA.
Understand the basics of The Automation Framework (TAF) and its comprehensive features to address installation, collaboration, flexibility, scalability, and integration, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of test automation processes.
Support ship system verification checks to include environment details, test steps, actions, expected results, and pass/fail comments.
Provide regular status updates during Scrum calls to keep the team informed about testing progress.
Experience:
Experience with Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) Enterprise Toolset. Including JIRA, Confluence,BitBucket, CodeDx (SRM), Coverity, Docker, JFrog Artifactory, JFrog Xray, OpenShift, OWASP ZAP, Tekton,SCORE, etc.
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Including cloud-based Continuous Integration/ContinuousDeployment (CI/CD) infrastructure and administration.
Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) IAT Level II (qualification requires Security+ and OS certification).
Education and Certifications:
Security+ Certification (active)
Operating Systems Certification (RHEL and/or Windows OS)
