i3 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support a unique and complex Army engineering effort located in Huntsville, Alabama. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing high-level technical and engineering support and leadership. The position involves collaborating with civilian government personnel and a diverse team of engineering professionals to ensure project goals and timelines are achieved. The candidate can expect up to 10% travel. This position is contingent upon contract award, estimated late September timeframe.
Responsibilities
Develop design solutions in collaboration with a technical team and progress those solutions from concept through implementation.
Conduct analysis to support and substantiate design approaches.
Generation of test plans, technical reports, calculation packages, and presentations documenting the work performed.
Design and develop electrical hardware including power supply, cable connectors and ruggedization enhancements for electrical components.
Support integration and verification testing in laboratory and field environments.
Work alongside an interdisciplinary team of engineers
Present designs and technical supporting data to internal teammates and customers. Work closely with Design Team on generation of design drawings, while providing oversight, review, and approval of drawings and system schematics. Job may include generation of design drawings and system schematics.
Perform failure analysis and investigations to identify and implement solutions.
Support engineering efforts in preparation for milestone reviews such as Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
Assist in developing procurement documentation to support design efforts.
Assist in the coordination with key vendors and/or suppliers.
Assist in the management and organization of government furnished equipment (GFE).
Review and mentorship of lower-level engineers if applicable.
Travel approximately 10% to support the team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
knowledge and/or experience in the design and analysis of electrical systems.
Knowledge and/or experience designing, developing, and testing electronic and digital circuits.
Knowledge and/or experience operating electronic test equipment.
Desired: Knowledge and/or experience with C/C++ and Python languages.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Ability to travel to suppliers as required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
