Job Description:
As we continue to grow our Water Infrastructure practice in Ontario, we are adding an Engineering Manager – Water/Wastewater to support our Water Projects. Our team is engaged in the design, contract management and project management of municipal water/wastewater pump stations, water transmission lines, reservoirs and related infrastructure. We have been actively involved in projects in the region since 1964 and have a well-established team of experts that know how to solve our customers toughest challenges. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with municipal clients (GTA). We offer the flexibility to work from any of our offices in Southern Ontario.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets to meet the requirements of our client, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
- Interfaces with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process. Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers. Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
- Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality is acceptable.
- Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel and makes reassignments as project needs arise.
- As the Project Manager or Design Manager plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
- Prepares technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
- Participates regularly in decision making meetings with the client and the project team.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying developmental growth opportunities
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution along with PENG registered in Ontario is required.
- 15+ years of related work experience is required. Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related large-scope project types.
- Candidate must have 10 years of experience in the process design of both vertical and linear municipal water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Experience working on water/wastewater treatment plants is required.
- Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projects.
- Ability & drive to perform in a lead capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
- Expertise in water and wastewater hydraulic modeling is an asset.
