Description
The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking an Appian Developer to perform a variety of duties in connection with agile software development, design, planning, implementation, testing and support for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety applications using FAA’s Appian low-code development platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Appian and web-based applications, building Appian based application as well as associated integration components in Java
- Solve highly complex technical problems using Appian and other supporting platforms, problem Solver and ability to estimate and size Appian business requirements
- Coach others on technical best practices, provide technical guidance to mid-level developers
- Foster a positive team environment focused on advanced technical knowledge, effective collaboration, and positive customer outcomes
- Assist with adding top talent to our team by participating in candidate interviews
- Research, develop, and implement new tools to speed up and simplify application development
- Work with business users to translate business requirements into technical designs
- Attend meetings related to the Office of Investigations and Professional Responsibility (AXI) or other program activities.
- Utilize various data collection and analysis tools and scripting languages to create and validate data sets used by analysts.
- Require mastery level technical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field/degree
- Appian development experience, demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies
- Experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful API
- Proven ability to coach and mentor technical staff
- Excellent problem-solving skills and talent for identifying creative solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and external
- Ability to interface with Architects, customers, and technical personnel to understand business processes and system requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships. Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals on all levels.
- Must have the ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance.(To qualify, you will have to be a US citizen or permanent resident and resided in the US for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA dregee and 8 plus years of Appian development experience, demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies (e.g. Appian Lead Developer certification)
- Understand the differences between basic design principles in integrating to Web Services
- 5+ years’ experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful API
- 3+ years of experience in an agile delivery environment
- Previous FAA and/or Government contracting work experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
