Traffic CAD Technician

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic CAD Technician to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for developing Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signal and ITS/UGN design drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D software. This role involves creating detailed 2D Designs and 3D Models of Traffic Disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signal, and ITS/UGN design drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Create detailed 2D Designs and 3D Models for traffic-related disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Produce professional drawings for Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signals, ITS/UGN designs, and Traffic Management Plans.
- Work closely with design engineers to develop and finalize design drawings for assigned projects.
- Perform dimensional and routine calculations required for drawing preparation.
- Review and check accuracy of layouts and drawings, making adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches and general design information, including general arrangements, layout plans, profiles, cross-sections, structure details, flow sheets, and assemblies.
- Ensure compliance with technical manuals, codes, and company policies.
- Develop and maintain 3D models of Traffic Disciplines using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Update 3D models in response to design changes and perform clash analysis.
- Generate clash reports and perform quantity take-offs.
- Maintain an understanding of Signs & Marking and Directional Signs drawings, along with Traffic Signal and ITS/UGN drawings.
- Comply with CAD standards and the ISO 19650 Workflow and Approval Process.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Associate's or equivalent technical degree/diploma in engineering or related field, or equivalent technical certification from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Traffic and Highway projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
- Basic knowledge of MicroStation.
- Experienced in using ProjectWise/ACC Navigator for document and drawing management.
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with project teams and internal stakeholders.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Advanced knowledge of Traffic Disciplines including Signs & Marking, Directional Signs, Traffic Signals, and ITS/UGN design.
- Experience with clash analysis and quantity take-offs.
- Familiarity with ISO 19650 workflow and approval processes.
- Ability to integrate 3D modeling and design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- In-depth understanding of technical manuals, codes, and industry standards for developing traffic-related design drawings.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in delivering high-quality engineering designs.
