Job Summary
We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Operations Data Analyst to join our team for the New Jersey Vehicle Inspection Program. Reporting directly to the Program Director, the ideal candidate is eager to showcase their skills in data analysis, financial reporting, and business analytics. Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Interpretation
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
- Assist in documenting business requirements for data analysis projects.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications under guidance.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Create informative dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools.
- Develop visualizations that communicate data effectively to stakeholders.
- Prepare reports that tell a compelling story with data, highlighting key insights.
Communication & Collaboration
- Present analytical findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute ideas and insights during team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
Data Integrity & Quality Assurance
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of data analyses through validation processes.
- Maintain data integrity by addressing data inconsistencies.
- Follow data governance policies and comply with data security standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance data analysis processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends and analytical tools.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, or a related work experience.
- Candidates with commensurate work experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or business analytics will also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or business analytics. Internships or relevant project experience will be considered.
Technical Skills
Excel Proficiency
- Strong skills in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and basic macros.
Data Visualization
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools for creating reports and dashboards.
Data Analysis Tools
- Basic experience with SQL for data querying is preferred.
- Exposure to statistical software (e.g., R, Python) is a plus but not required.
Data Management
- Understanding of data collection and data quality principles.
Analytical Skills
- Strong ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Proficient in basic statistical analysis.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering accurate insights.
Business Acumen
- Understanding of basic financial principles and inventory management concepts.
- Ability to connect data analysis outcomes to business objectives.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience presenting information in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience (including internships) in the automotive industry or vehicle inspection programs.

Salary Range:
