Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Road Safety Specialist to join our team! Under the direction of a safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) manager or director, assists a project or program manager in ensuring that the site-specific SH&E plans, workplaces, and operational tasks being conducted conform to Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Road Safety Engineer to join our team. The position is primarily a site-based role with key responsibilities being the road safety inspections, road safety review, improvements to the existing and construction roads, in accordance with Safe System Approach, arranging and approving independent road safety audits.
What You'll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Roads Safety Technical & Delivery Specialist, ensuring that works are carried out in a safe manner. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Carry out regular site road safety inspections and road safety review during day and night times to ensure road safety including intersections, speed limits, visibility, signage, etc. and identify design and traffic safety deficiencies throughout the project.
Review direction and wayfinding signs.
Arrange, review and approve independent road safety audits recommendations: Decision Tracking Form (DTF) and respond / close on behalf of the Client.
Review Site Accesses and other Districts requirements.
Provide continuous improvement in road safety and temporary traffic management.
Participate in road safety related WhatsApp Group.
Prepare and respond to Comment/Response Sheet (CRS) for road safety and traffic management.
Resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Review and approve contractor and consultants submittals road safety and traffic management related plans and method statements and ensuring compliance
Review the proposed diversion route such as temporary road layout, signing, temporary/permanent safety barriers, lighting on carriageway
Supervise contractors during all road safety and TTM related functions, such as implementation, maintenance and decommissioning.
Ensure that all contractors are adhering to the approved traffic management related plans
Ensure all temporary traffic diversions are maintained in a safe clean condition for the road users.
Ensure that all works are carried out in a safe manner
Work closely with other Delivery Partner teams for day-to-day activities and provide support to the Roads Safety Technical & Delivery Specialist.
Support other Logistics teams
Assist HSE teams.
Assist Roads Group.
Completes other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
10 years’ experience in road safety.
5 years’ experience in design, inspection and monitoring of temporary traffic management and diversion routes is preferred.
3 years’ experience in design of traffic signs, road marking and wayfinding direction signs is preferred.
Experience in conducting road safety audits and inspections.
Experience of supervising construction works.
A valid GCC or relevant international driving license is essential. The candidate will be expected to acquire a KSA driving license in due course.

Excellent report writing skills and good communication in English
Use of AutoCAD and GIS systems.
Knowledge of iRAP and Safe System Approach
Familiarity with the use of software typically used in crash investigation is preferred.
Arabic skills will be an advantage.
