Operate a county vehicle, picking up, delivering, sorting, distributing, and processing mail, packages, and boxes from County departmental facilities.
Pick up printing orders, payroll, petty cash, and checks, and deliver them to County offices/buildings.
Pick-up mail from the post office consists of signing for express, certified, and registered mail.
Ability to lift, carry, and deliver heavy boxes, packages, and bags of all sizes.
Operate mail processing and postal equipment, including all mailroom and business equipment.
Sort, prepare, and process mail, packages, and boxes and deliver them to the proper location.
Prepare forms, labels, and proper paperwork for outgoing mail, including presorted, certified, registered, FedEx, and UPS.
Communicate effectively and appropriately providing excellent customer service and answering any questions requiring specialized knowledge of the mailroom and post office.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education.
One year of job-related experience, c lerical, administrative, and computer experience.
-OR- One year of advanced schooling may substitute for one year of experience.
A valid Florida driver's license or ability to obtain by start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of post office and mail room procedures.
Ability to drive a van.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
CJIS Clearance: **The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
