AGS is looking for a Food Service Worker to work in Miami, FL.
The Food Service Worker assists Cook I and Cook II in performing a variety of tasks concerned with the preparation and serving of food and beverages. The Food Service Worker will act independently or assist in the performance of any and all duties necessary to keep the facility in full operation.
Hourly Rate: $22.27/Hour
Responsibilities
Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils, in accordance with specific area needs; checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations; may operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned.
Conveys food cart to detention areas and return cart to kitchen.
Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food, chooses proper utensils and maintains appropriate temperature for menu items.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot and cold meat and vegetable dishes, beverages, salads, sandwiches, pie fillings, simple bakery items, salad dressings, and/or other similar food items, as appropriate to the position.
Serves food items to customers in accordance with specific instructions, ensuring that appropriate portions are served.
Replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations and replenish condiments.
May clean, wash and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers; as appropriate to the area of operation.
Work is completed in a priority established by supervision or facility need.
All work will be completed with a high degree of professionalism, quality and craftsmanship.
Lulls in workload are used to maintain a clean and orderly work area and to insure clerical tasks are up to date. Keeps up to date on departmental and facility safety standards and local codes and policies.
Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
At least 21 years of age.
A high school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles; with a cross cultural perspective.
Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public
Capability of following and interpreting/understanding written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials
This position requires that candidates have not been terminated from a previous employer for cause.
Proven ability to exercise good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through his/her responsibilities.
