Compass Point is looking to hire a GIS Administrator to join us in supporting one of our current government customers at Hurlburt Field, FL that builds virtual environment products for Special Operations Forces and provides operational intelligence to enable integrated mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. The qualifying candidate will work onsite as a full time GIS Administrator and manage multiple geodatabases in production design, testing, and development.

Responsibilities
Creates small applications, modules, or interfaces, and work proficiency with standard programming languages, such as SQL, Python, or Java.
Monitors database performance and capacity and implement measures to both improve efficiencies and security of geospatial databases.
Be able to perform complex data manipulation, conversion, load and clean up.
Develops, implements, and enforces application-related database standards; establish common practices for database design, documentation, naming conventions, security, reporting, and access.
Configures hardware and software in coordination with other systems and software.
Trains a wide range of users on the ESRI ArcGIS platforms.
Gathers, analyzes, and reports data storage metrics.
Provides project management on long-term GIS requests that have broader scopes and organizational impacts.
Creates, edits, and maintains technical documentation and instructions for servers, databases, applications and processes.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Active or be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance
Must have or willing to attain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of accepting the position.
Bachelor's Degree or 5 years in relational spatial databases and 5 years of experience in GIS or related field,
Experience with ESRIs ArcGIS suite of software with skills in geodatabase administration, portal administration and spatial database administration, and SQL programming.
Knowledge and experience with ESRI enterprise geodatabase administration, including maintenance and troubleshooting, versioning and replication.
Understanding of GIS fundamentals (coordinates, projections, spatial analysis)
Perform and test system design, upgrades, and maintenance according to business needs
Develop schemas, tables, triggers, indexes, sequences, constraints, functions and procedures
Create and modify SQL queries and stored procedures, implement automated processes, and perform systems upgrades and general troubleshooting.
Plan, design and deploy up-to-date GIS architecture to include both PostgreSQL and GIS server software and hardware.
Understand business requirements and develop database models accordingly
Provide optimal design solutions and perform capacity analysis and tuning.
Develop monitoring tools for system reporting
Use of Microsoft Office Access and Excel
Strong analytical / problem solving skills
