Job Description:
T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Tower Technicians to join our team! In this role you will get to be a part of an amazing team of talented tower technicians, assessing and improving our nation's communications and navigational aid tower infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing:
Traveling with a team of tower technicians
Conducting structural condition assessments of tower systems, including foundation, structural steel members and connection plates/bolts, appurtenances such as microwave dishes and communications antennas,, cables, junction boxes, etc., grounding and lightning protection systems
Adjusting tower guy cable tension and realigning towers as necessary
Completing checklists and documenting condition using photographical evidence
Meeting with local tower ownership, clients, and landowners
Debriefing customers and management on findings
Consulting with management and engineers to assist in recommended actions for tower condition improvement
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A safe work history and mindset
Current or recent tower climb and rescue credentials
Comfort in climbing towers up to 400 feet. in height (though generally less than 200 ft)
Computer skills
Communications skills (written and oral)
3 plus years' experience required
High school diploma or GED required.
