ASE is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with specialized expertise in Power BI to join our team in support of Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida. This role involves formulating and applying mathematical modeling, optimizing methods, and leveraging advanced data analysis to develop and interpret information that will assist our client in decision-making, policy formulation, and other strategic functions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong background in data science, a proven track record of building insightful dashboards in Power BI, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. This is a hybrid position requiring periodic on-site meetings in Orlando, FL, where you will also be responsible for teaching and guiding the customer on how to effectively use and interpret their data, as well as making recommendations on how to better collect and display data. Responsibilities
Collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and data requirements.
Utilizes Power BI to design, develop, and deploy dynamic and interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights.
Applies advanced mathematical modeling and optimization techniques to interpret and analyze data.
Develops decision support software, services, or products that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Performs data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support the client's strategic initiatives.
Provides expert recommendations on improving data collection methods and optimizing data display to enhance decision-making processes.
Educates and mentors the customer on how to effectively use and interpret their data, ensuring they can independently derive insights and make informed decisions.
Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of data throughout the analysis and reporting process.
Stays current with industry trends and advancements in data science, Power BI, and related technologies.
Communicates complex data findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Participates in quarterly on-site meetings in Orlando, FL, to collaborate, present findings, and conduct training sessions.
Qualifications
Active Secret clearance.
BA or BS degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Science with a focus on applying mathematical models and optimization methods for decision-making and policy formulation.
Expert proficiency in Power BI with demonstrated experience in building and deploying complex dashboards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in teaching or mentoring others on data analysis, interpretation, and the use of data tools.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide recommendations on improving data collection and display.
