Program Manager/Craft Master (PSC-2024-21412):
Bowhead is seeking to network with Program Manager/Craft Masters to join our team for our proposal effort toperform maintenance that consists of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) actions for preventative maintenance measures and corrective maintenance or repair at the organizational, intermediate and depot maintenance levels on the PSC, test equipment, and other small boat or crane and winch repairs as necessary. PSC operations will consist of pier support and operations of the craft as required.We will develop and maintain a database of vendors and sources that lease or rent the types of boats, vessels, ROVs, and test support equipment in the operating areas of interest where test operations are likely to occur such as Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA, Fort Lauderdale FL, and along the Gulf Coast.
Responsibilities
Job duties to include but are not limited to:
General diesel engine maintenance
General boat maintenance, checking hatches and scuttles for watertight integrity, keeping bilges clean and dry, checking all electrical devices as well as all electronics for proper operation.
Installing coverings of metal and wood over windows, doors, portholes and ventilation ducts,
Removing valves from Firemain systems,
Wiring valves shut, pulling cables through spaces,
Clearing deck drains topside,
Moving equipment off topside to interior spaces, cleaning topside spaces using a pressure washer,
Qualifications
Atleast nine (9+) years' experience in managing and supervising personnel, material and day-to-day in port and at-sea scheduled/unscheduled operations.
Licensed and certified as specified in PWS paragraph 3.4.2.2 - has the ability to perform Craft Master functions in port or at-sea.
Experienced in crane operations and at-sea rigging.
Current United States Coast Guard (USCG) 100 Ton Master license or Navy 100 Ton Craft Master .
Possess the ability to run tracks within +/- 10 meters over 1,000 meter while towing instruments behind the craft, hold station in open water within 10 meters, conduct restricted maneuvering, and precision navigation within Global Positioning System (GPS) accuracy.
Experience towing various arrays such as side scan sonar(s) and other test equipment and assets.
Basic skills/use of hand and power tools
Assist with facility maintenance/upkeep (sweeping, general organization and housekeeping), installing protective deck coverings, wiring valves shut, removing valves, pulling cables and ventilation duct work through ship passageways, cleaning soot from auxiliary boilers, installing coverings over ship exterior ventilation openings, securing weather deck doors, cleaning topside areas, checking and recording deck drains and other duties required to prepare the ship for long term afloat storage.
Willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
Willing to take all Bowhead required training (safety, security, hazardous material, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
