Description
As a Senior Trades Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and functionality of our facilities. You will perform building checks, monitor building controls, and effectively communicate in both routine and emergency situations. Your expertise will help ensure our buildings operate efficiently and safely.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work Order Management: Respond promptly to work orders and complete requests efficiently.
Parts Procurement: Obtain necessary parts while adhering to security and tool control measures.
Building Inspections: Conduct thorough walkthroughs of Lee County Facilities to identify building issues or potential safety hazards.
Work Order Input: Accurately document detailed work orders as required.
Collaboration: Escort trades workers, vendors, and contractors for repairs and emergencies beyond routine maintenance.
Safety First: Work safely and proactively identify and address unsafe situations to ensure the well-being of yourself and others.
Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of two years of building maintenance experience, particularly in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC/building automation systems, or related fields.
Driver's License: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Background Check: Must successfully complete a fingerprint-based NCIC background check and obtain security clearance from the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the State's Attorney's Office, along with a standard consumer report background check.

Work Schedule:
Days & Hours: Thursday 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Friday 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Saturday 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM, and Sunday 6:00 PM - 3:00 AM. Flexibility in hours and the ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime is essential.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work in tight spaces.
Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must pass a respirator physical and obtain respirator certification, if necessary.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical electronics, HVAC, building automation systems, electrical systems, carpentry, and relevant building codes.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and sketches.
Additional licenses or certifications in relevant trades are a plus.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIVITIES:
