VP Engineering/Chief Engineer
Job Summary:
Nammo Perry (NAPE) is a U.S. defense contractor and a member of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). NAPE develops, manufactures, and specializes in solid propulsion, solid-fuel ramjet propulsion and energetic material products for tactical missile, rocket motors and warheads, and is working to establish tactical missile system design, development, and production capabilities. NAPE is presently expanding operations and is looking for dedicated team members to assist with start-up facility design and construction, engineering services, manufacturing operations and program execution.
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of VP Engineering/Chief Engineer.
As VP Engineering/Chief Engineer for NAPE you will be responsible for leading the new Engineering Office in Tallahassee and supporting our new facility design and construction in Perry FL, leading the technical management of our military business programs and establishing and maintaining a competent design and development and process engineering organization. This position will report to the President of Nammo Perry and will work very closely with company leadership, program management, quality assurance, operational leaders, internal and external customers. Our chosen candidate will perform a variety of highly skilled and specialized duties that will include, but is not limited to:
Setup, lead, mentor and supervise the new Engineering Office staff in Tallahassee, FL.
Oversee all aspects of key products, processes and performance reports, data, and analysis.
Plan and formulate aspects of development and production projects and proposals such as objective, applications, project cost and equipment as well as resource requirements.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects.
Recommend budgets to leadership, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements and improvements.
Oversee development of the new office facility plans and support execution of efforts to meet DoD security requirements to handle and respond to classified DoD programs.
Review customer SOW's, RFP's, RFI's and develop engineering plans to meet specifications and requirements.
Transition from Nammo Raufoss, the methods, processes, and tooling designs to support the new U.S. manufacturing facility.
Write procedures, test plans and reports.
Manage all engineering aspects of a program as related to engineering requirements; design, development and production.
Perform material and structural testing of rocket motor designs in development and production.
Interface with customer engineers, as required.
Work closely with quality assurance to ensure contracted programs meet AS9100 quality standards.
Use and apply accepted technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques.
Effectively communicate through both verbal and written methods with company leadership, internal and external customers.
Present information and respond to questions from company leadership, internal managers, and customers.
Lead the engineering organization to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate to complex scope and complexity.
Develop and execute engineering organizational plans commensurate with operational growth.
Travel as required (initially travel to Raufoss, Norway will be required to gain experience in Nammo's engineering methods, their energetics manufacturing and testing capabilities in preparation for transition to the U.S.)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· BS in Mechanical and/or Aerospace Engineering with 10 years of related experience preferred, or Chemical Engineering or Physics with applicable experience.
· The candidate will also require a minimum of 5 years of experience managing and leading engineers.
· Experience in solid-fuel ramjet propulsion and facilitation is highly desirable.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook and Visio. Working knowledge of solid modeling software (i.e. Solid Edge/SolidWorks, I-DEAS NX, etc.) 3D model and 2D drawing creation.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
CAD design of parts, tooling, molds, and fixtures; concise technical writing skills, and strong mechanical aptitude and technical leadership skills required.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to obtain BATF approval. Ability to qualify for and obtain DoD security clearance at secret level or above.
