Job Description:
The Senior Specialist, Software Engineering, designs, develops and extensively tests complex engineering solutions for advanced tactical radio operating system and waveform software. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. Operates independently and guides junior engineers.
Essential Functions:
Design and development of embedded software and platforms for next generation tactical radios.
Design and implement application-level libraries for interfacing with software and hardware components in embedded Linix systems.
Develops software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation.
Participates in peer reviews; identifies, tracks, and addresses software defects.
Design and implement capabilities for ground-based SATCOM enabled software defined radios.
Consult with cross-functional engineering groups to evaluate interfaces, operational requirements.
Prepare work estimates, provide input to project schedule.
Breakdown tasks into smaller chunks for sprint planning.
Assist and mentor junior engineers.
Candidates must be able to obtain a US security clearance.
Qualifications:
6+ years of C/C++programming language and Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Requires comprehensive level knowledge embedded software development on software defined radio platforms.
Requires deep level knowledge of ground-based SATCOM radio software development.
Requires deep level knowledge of Linux application development environment and Linux device driver interfaces
Experience with Git/Bitbucket
Experience with continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins)
Experience with the Agile methodology
Experience with real-time operating systems (e.g. VxWorks RTOS, Linux, QNX)
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $93,500 - $173,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
