Job Description
As Survey Crew Chief, you are responsible for directing, participating and controlling field surveying activities of your assigned crew, which include, but not limited to the following:
Performing field work related to all types of surveys, including boundary surveys, construction layout, topographic mapping, subsurface utility location and other surveys.
Ability to take ownership of a project and instruct crew on accurate and efficient methods.
Accurately run and adjust survey instruments including GPS, robotic total stations, level and other electronic measuring devices with electronic data collecting capabilities.
Perform survey calculations, read and understand survey map data and construction plans.
Complete accurate and legible survey notes and performs simple note reduction and checks.
Train other crew members
Be responsible for crew and vehicle safety.
Perform maintenance, cleaning, and operation of vehicles, equipment, tools and supplies.
Report daily progress and issues to the Project Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: $23-28/hr

Skills and Requirements
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
4+ years of verifiable experience in the field of surveying with 1+ years as a Survey Crew Chief.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Experience with GPS
Must be available for some overnight travel.
Must be able to obtain security clearances for entry into secure facilities.
Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
Ability to perform physical tasks such and walking long distances, standing for long periods, frequently lifting and moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and moving up to 100 pounds.
Travel up to 25% around the state of Florida null
