Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Institutional Research and Analysis. The person in this role is responsible for leading and managing the institutional research function of the University and supporting its effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include managing a team of analysts who collect and analyze data and report on the success of students and the health of the institution, while also supporting key functions of the University, especially accreditation and strategic planning. The Director collaborates with various departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of institutional data.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education research, statistics, data science) by time of appointment, from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
3 - 5 years of experience in institutional research or a related field within higher education.
Strong proficiency in statistical analysis software, database management, and data visualization tools.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and confidentiality.
Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in institutional research.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., education research, statistics, data science).
5 + years of experience in institutional research or a related field within higher education.
Experience using database software, mainframe applications, and/or statistical software such as SPSS or comparable.
Knowledge of relational database design and management and expertise in a major database package i.e. Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, SQL Server.
Experience with Banner, Slate, or similar student information systems.
Ability to communicate complex findings to a non-technical audience.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $99,266.
