The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Physical Health & Wellness Manager leads a regional Physical Health & Wellness team, provides budgetary development and oversight, and ensures alignment of program offerings with strategic goals. The Physical Health & Wellness Manager effectively manages internal and external stakeholder relationships while maintaining a commitment to WWP's mission.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage PH&W activities and regional staff, ensuring alignment of program offerings with strategic goals.
Develop and implement regional programming in support of organizational needs, while identifying new programming opportunities.
Provide oversight for regional PH&W programming within the Salesforce and Blackthorn platforms, including tracking and reporting of regional staff key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manage PH&W regional budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources.
Identify and implement strategies to maintain and develop relationships with warriors that promote increased participation in PH&W events and activities.
Facilitate professional development of regional staff through individual coaching, selection of continuing education opportunities, and assignment of special projects or workgroups.
Lead weekly regional team meetings via video conferencing. Conduct regular check-in meetings with individual PH&W Coaches.
Establish and maintain community relationships to build an ecosystem of PH&W support for warriors in the assigned region.
Assist with planning of yearly all-team meetings, regional team meetings, and various staff trainings.
Manage workgroups to identify improvements, evaluate specific program areas throughout the year, and implement new in-person and virtual program offerings.
Oversee the development of in-person events and virtual programming content via Microsoft Teams, Facebook Live, Strava, Garmin, and other technology-based platforms.
Lead special projects designed to improve programming, efficiencies, and increase overall impact.
Work with multiple WWP departments and other key stakeholders to deliver in-person and virtual programming and services to warriors and their families.
Travel as needed to specific PH&W events to provide an onsite presence and ensure warrior participation and event success. Interact with warriors and serve as liaison with other WWP departments.
Maintain PH&W program staffing by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership for hiring decisions.

EXPERIENCE
Requirements
Three years of experience working in the fitness industry, allied health profession, health management, wellness coaching, strength and conditioning, or personal/athletic training.
Two years of staff management experience.
One year of experience with customer relationship management and event management systems, e.g., Salesforce, Blackthorn.
One year of experience managing projects or events.
Preferences
One year of experience working with and providing support to wounded service members dealing with health issues and invisible injuries.
One year of experience managing remote staff.
EDUCATION
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports management, recreation management, or similar health science field.
Preferences
Master's Degree in exercise science, sports management, recreation management, or similar health science field.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE
Requirements
CPR-First Aid certification.
Valid state-issued driver's license.
Preferences
Personal Training Certification (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA), Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS), or other related fitness certification.
Wellness Coaching Certification.
