POSITION TITLE: Housekeeping Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center
SUPERVISOR: Facilities Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00

POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Supervisor will report directly to the Facilities Manager. The Housekeeping Supervisor will have a significant role assisting the Facilities Manager in ensuring smooth operations at the center. Their responsibilities will include overseeing the housekeeping and security teams, addressing special needs and requests from other departments, and assisting with administrative tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining both the cleanliness and security of the facility while supporting overall department goals.
The Housekeeping Supervisor will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the way he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two years experience in customer service.
Minimum one year of administrative experience.
Experience managing or coordinating the needs of multiple departments.
Minimum of two years of previous facility management experience or similar industry.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.
PREFERENCES:
OSHA Training Certificate.
Experience with work order systems.
Other related certificates such as Guard Card, Customer Service, or similar.
Extensive knowledge related to commercial housekeeping/custodial best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain a regular and punctual work attendance.
Available to work a flexible schedule that includes working on weekends and evenings.
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, perform all administrative work as related to the planning and execution of department goals.
Assist with the coordination of all department daily activities, including task assignments, inventory management, and purchasing.
Will have direct oversight of the Facilities Department in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
Utilize work order system to track, schedule, and accomplish routine and non-routine work requests.
Assist the Facilities Manager in hiring, training, and developing a Housekeeping and Security team that can meet the needs of the Kroc Center.
Assist the Facilities Manager develop SOPs, training matrix, and provide training as necessary to meet department needs.
Assist the Facilities Manager oversee the Housekeeping and Security Departments including scheduling, reviewing timesheets, completing evaluations, and with the guidance of the Facilities Manager, perform disciplinary actions.
Communicate with other Kroc departments to ensure the housekeeping and security departments are helping meet the needs of those departments and coordinate efforts for events and daily activities.
Assists with customer feedback and provides regular reports including service complaints, suggestions, and recommendations for improvement.
Maintain and foster ongoing, professional staff and member relations.
Maintain confidentiality.
Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
Participate in the MOD program that requires 1-2 evening shifts per month.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The position requires strong administrative and organizational skills, and attention to detail. Must prioritize and organize work assignments and take projects from beginning through completion.
The work will be in a fast-paced environment and requires changing priorities constantly while meeting deadlines. The position must maintain poise under pressure, respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner, and be resilient in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service complaints, maintaining the security of people and property, competing priorities, etc. This position must maintain an initiative-taking and self- directed schedule, able to work with limited supervision, and in a team setting with other professionals. This position must possess the self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work, exercise good judgment and be comfortable taking initiative with projects.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 25 independently and occasionally more than 25 pounds with assistance.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
The position requires talking to co-workers, clients, vendors; requires written communication to and from co-workers, clients, vendor; talking on the telephone; requires responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers, clients, and vendors; requires training/giving verbal and written instructions; requires receiving verbal and written instructions; requires writing/composing written language; requires reading; requires visiting/working at other worksites; requires communication via the latest technologies.
The position requires the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner in conformity with The Salvation Army Mission Statement. The position requires the ability to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
EQUIPMENT NEEDS:
Equipment used includes general office equipment such as computers, point of sale kiosks, photocopiers, scanners, printers, fax machines, telephone (office, cell, PDA), microphones, audio-visual equipment, 10-key calculator, and automobile.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work will be indoors at the new Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii) administration office. There will also be times when this employee will be outdoors at the Kroc Center Hawaii. Attendance at trainings and conferences, both in Hawaii and on the mainland, may be required.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
The candidate chosen for this position must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation.
On an annual basis, employees are required to participate in The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program.
