Overview
SOSi is currently seeking an experienced NetOps Field Service Engineer to join our team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii . The customer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii creates, manages, and supports IT solutions for our customer, its mission and its 5,000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems that enable our customer to realize critical and time sensitive C2 strategies.
Essential Job Duties
Administer and maintain local and wide area networks supporting multiple enclaves across three geographically diverse data centers, provide technical support and troubleshooting to users, and contribute to enterprise design and implementation. Analyze and resolve interoperability and functionality issues for user and network devices as well as IT services to include email, file transfer, unified communications, and the like; contribute to planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites as well as configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices; support the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed; and perform various tests and document results.
Manage usage and performance of C4I Mission Enclaves.
Maintain the integrity and security of network devices and systems and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Patch and update network device operating systems to Department of Defense guidelines.
Monitor overall network health and troubleshoots reported events.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
Participate in, and may lead, aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
Evaluate hardware and software, input, output, peripheral and related equipment.
Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
Participate in special projects as required.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
Maintain system documentation.
Provide advice and training to end-users.
Support customer-specific Continuity of Operations (COOP) requirements
Minimum Requirements
An Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility and US Passport.
DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or 8 years of experience in network administration, troubleshooting, and support.
Experience with Type 1 Encryption Devices (e.g., TACLANE KG-175 D/G) and NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Capability Packages.
Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
Experience in Circuit & Network Design.
Experience implementing DISA STIG Network Security guidelines.
Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant IT Certifications (CCNA, and/or CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, VCA, VCP, RHCSA, RHCE).
Well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures, and regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Awareness or experience in ITIL 4 framework and best practices.
