Interview Schedule*
The interview process consists of the following:
A 30-minute virtual phone screen
A 30-minute in-person final interview
Candidates successful in the interview process may be invited to paid classroom training in Honolulu. Training is for nine days, held Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day on weekdays.
Position Overview*
Our Cargo Agents provide our customers with personalized service and solutions to meet their shipping needs.
Our best Cargo Agents communicate clearly and can switch from an office environment to a warehouse environment with ease.
Pay and Benefits*
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this position is $15.61 per hour.
Medical, dental and vision benefits are provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Work Schedules*
Per the collective bargaining agreement, work schedules are awarded based on seniority. New hires are awarded their initial shift based on operational need and must be able to accept any shift. There are both FT and PT positions in the Cargo department. All shift schedules, including part-time, are 5 days on, 2 days off. Days off may not necessarily be consecutive. Schedules are set, however, may change throughout the year in conjunction with the collective bargaining agreement.
Work schedules are set, 5 days on, 2 days off. Shifts do not change unless there is an operational need.
Full-Time is 8 hours per shift. Based on operational need, you may need to report to work early and/or work beyond your scheduled end time.
If You Do Not Reside on Maui Island*
If hired, based on operational need, you will be required to report to work early and/or work beyond your scheduled end time. Those who plan to fly to get to/from work would have difficulty reporting to work early, which is a restriction in availability. It would be difficult for us to consider you and encourage you to monitor our careers website for an opportunity based on your desired work location.
Hawaiian Airlines will hire based on Operational Needs and training classes fill up quickly. You may be offered an opportunity to join our Pool for future Training Classes.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Minimum age 18 possessing at least a high school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license issued in the United States (driver's permits and provisional driver's licenses not allowed)
Must be flexible in work assignment areas and hours
Must have good customer relation skills
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of position including lifting up to 70 lbs. unassisted.
Able to operate a computer; requires 25 wpm keyboarding skills.
Able to obtain Forklift certification.
Ability to complete pre-employment drug test and if hired, random drug testing
Ability to fulfill comprehensive background checks and fingerprinting to satisfy company security requirements and obtain various clearances to work at the airport (SIDA, Customs, USPS as applicable)
