Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Test Engineer / Sr. Principal System Test Engineer to join the team of qualified, diverse individuals in support of the MQ-4C Triton program test activities. This position will be located at San Diego, CA.

The Triton Test IPT is looking for a highly motivated individual to join a diverse, high performing Test & Evaluation (T&E) team in the successful analysis of System Level 3 requirements, development and execution of System Level 3 test procedures, and continuous maintenance and improvement of the Triton Systems Center and support all lab activities. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and have the ability to focus on first time quality, engineering rigor, and Test Like You Fly methodology. You thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Responsibilities include:
Working with T&E Teammates including the Test Planning & Execution team and T&E Management to successfully execute test activities and lab integration activities.
Have the ability to communicate up and out and well as down and in.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for development and execution of automated and manual test cases to verify system functional requirements
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment
Developing robust nominal & off-nominal automated test cases centered on improving the user experience
Work independently on assigned tasks to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once
Flexibility to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours.
The candidate will also be expected to actively seek opportunities for process improvement
Interface and present test integration and execution results to program and test leadership at pre-and-post-test reviews
Basic Qualifications:
An active in-scope DoD Secret Clearance
Proficient writing Python scripts and PowerShell
Experience working System Test, SW Development and/or Systems Engineering
Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems & Virtual Machines (VMs)
Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodology
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
For Level 3:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited University/College and 5 years of engineering related experience, or a Master's in STEM Discipline and 3 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM discipline and 0 years of related experience.
For Level 4:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited University/College and 8 years of engineering related experience, or a Master's in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM and 5 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Security+ certification
Experience with IBM Rational tool suite (DOORS and Jazz)
Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Git, Confluence)
Experience using software test automation tools/frameworks
Experience with Java, C++, Python
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
