Title: Systems Engineer - Systems Performance Analysis (SPA) Location: Lompoc, CA Clearance: Secret Citizenship Requirement: Yes Req #: 3746 Salary: $86,000 - $90,000 RW613 Systems Analyst position to support the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of the US Air Force's Launch and Service Contract (LISC). As part of this team, your work will directly support Vandenberg Air Force Base's efforts to successfully launch satellites into space. This position is the perfect opportunity for a candidate that is interested in the aerospace industry and has a strong educational foundation in mathematics and/or physics. Essential Functions: A focus on one or more of the following Functional Areas is expected: 1 Performs system requirements analysis to support operational acceptance recommendation development and engineering project integration for system hardware upgrades and modifications 2 Resolves customer concerns with analysis details and products and responds to suggestions for improvements 3 Evaluates technical documentation of peer analysts as part of structured peer review process for all documents. 4 Assists in the processing and analysis of radar, telemetry and GPS data to evaluate instrumentation system performance to ensure that Western Range metric data systems are providing optimum performance and range safety coverage. Work requires the editing of raw data, setting-up of computer task files, program execution, publishing analysis results of trajectories and preparation of definitive statements that define the accuracy of the data presented. 5 Maintain a knowledge base on issues and concerns related to SPA that impact LISC's ability to execute its mission. Basic Qualifications for one or more functional areas listed above: Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, math or related technical field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Zero to five years of experience. Effective communication skills to interface with customers, support personnel and management, and for providing high-quality documentation to customers Excellent problem-solving skills for detailed data analysis and detection of latent issues in data products or equipment and vehicle performance Creative thinking and methodical analysis and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to switch between tasks quickly Other Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with specific emphasis on attention to detail The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours, on holidays or weekends to support specific launch mission or project requirements.
