At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling - to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
The Operations Analysis, Modeling, & Simulation (OAMS) directorate performs customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon Intelligence & Space.
Our teams develop, analyze, and grade flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements.
The department has a tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while championing individual diversity in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today's workforce.
What You Will Do
The OAMS Section Manager will join our Multi-Mission Analysis Department that supports multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs in both air and space domains.
You will be responsible for leading a team of 8-15 OAMS Engineers focused on the development and integration of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects in complex threat environments.
These models will generate virtual and/or analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate the operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned-Unmanned Teaming) in complex operational scenarios, develop requirements, test systems, and train operators.
In addition, you will have opportunities to use a wholistic mindset coupled with your engineering skills to develop and visualize solutions in support of one or more OAMS projects as an individual contributor.
Accountable for the execution of work and delivery of products from your section
Responsible for direct line management activities for your employees including performance development and appraisal (including salary planning), career development, staffing allocation and ensuring your team has the resources needed to perform their work, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment.
Responsible for the flow of communications between your section and Raytheon management, flowing communications down to your team and providing status and reports up to Raytheon management.
Evaluation of end-to-end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain (e.g., ensuring sensors can "talk to" shooters)
Modeling of system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) with tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (e.g. AFSIM, STK)
Development of metrics and results products that communicate the chain of events that led to an action.
Implementation of algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the entire system of systems.
What You Will Learn
In this role you will learn administrative and technical oversight of the section while maintaining current day-to-day engineering activities while supporting department and directorate level initiatives.
As a section leader you will learn about talent acquisition, goal setting, career development, performance appraisals, and compensation processes.
You will learn about employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Team leadership skills

Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Raytheon owned Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. OpsTool or RCADE) or Government/Industry Modeling and Simulation tools (e.g. AFSIM, OneSAF, ESAMS, Brawler, JAAM, TGx, STK).
Experience with radar (RF), electro optical (EO), and infrared (IR) sensing systems.
Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments. Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
