You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.
You will have the opportunity to perform design, development, documentation, integration, test and debug of circuit card hardware architecture for DoD systems. Hardware designs will be integrated into small form factor security devices and network systems. Responsibilities include Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, FPGA design, design documentation generation, hardware integration and test. You will be part of a high performing development team currently developing a new product for SNC.

Responsibilities:
PCB/CCA Hardware Design and Integration
FPGA Design
ARM 7 or 8 based microcontroller design
8 bit and 16 bit microcontroller design such as Microchip, Microblaze, PicoBlaze, or MSP430
Initiate problem solving for new product designs as well as existing products
Plan and execute technical activities in accordance with SNC policies, procedures, and specific Customer requirements
Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, and reports, in support of design and development
Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality, cost and schedule requirements
Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronics
Responsible for the design and development of units from concept through qualification
Must-haves:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams
An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

PCB layout and fabrication documentation and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design
Power Sequencing & Switching power supply design
Experience with Microcontroller design (MSP430) and Multiprocessor System on Chip design (MPSoC)
Schematic capture design with Mentor Graphics tools (PADS, DxDesigner)
CCA layout part placement and routing design practices
Low power mobile processor and FPGA based design experience desired
USB, gigabit Ethernet, SPI, serial, uSD (SDHC, SDXC), and I2C design experience is desired
FPGA design experience
Experience with Xilinx, Altera, MicroSemi, or Cypress FPGA's is desired
State machine design
High speed digital bus design
Knowledge of interface and design documentation such as Functional block diagrams, Hardware Design Specifications, and Hardware Design Descriptions, test procedures, and built-in-test methodologies
Hardware Integration and Test of PCB/CCA designs
Experience with digital multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers for serial/USB/I2C/Ethernet, impedance analyzers, and FPGA debug tools (ChipScope)
Experience working with anti-tamper design practices is desired
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $108,496.89 - $149,183.22. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
