GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Flight and Ground Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring that work areas, processes and procedures are in compliance with company-wide Flight and Ground Operations procedures, FOD procedures, DCMA INST 8210c Instructions and that employees are following them. The Flight and Ground Operations Specialist will assist the Flight and Ground Operations Manager in developing, implementing and sustaining the Flight & Ground procedures, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Tool Control programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communicates with all levels of management and customers to develop and ensure that company Flight and Ground Operating procedures are compliant with DCMA Inst. 8210 and other requirements.
Communicates with DCMA representatives, submits procedures for approval and ensures that approval status is maintained.
Develops, sustains, and trains personnel on the company wide Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and tool control programs.
Ensures production personnel follow all FOD, Tool Control and Ground Operating procedures on the factory floor.
Maintains the Flight and Ground Operations home page on "Confluence" or similar collaborative documentation management system.
Supports all corrective action activities resulting from external or internal audits of the Flight and Ground Operations.
Ensures Compliance with FGOPS procedures. Audits and evaluates processes and practices for more efficient and effective methods and recommends changes as needed.
Works with Engineering and Quality on process improvements to ensure FOD free workplace.
Works with Maintenance to ensure that equipment is maintained and repaired as needed to comply with DCMA INST 8210c requirements.
Completes all paperwork timely and accurately.
Trains and ensures that employees follow FOD control protocols.
Ensures the cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Utilizes software to enter, monitor and analyze data.
Effectively communicates in English with all levels of employees, both written and verbally.

COMPENSATION:
$70,000 - $95,000 annually

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in equivalent field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
5 + years of directly related experience required.
Must have military-based or private industry-based aircraft manufacturing operations experience.
Must understand DCMA INST 8210 Ground Operations requirements and have experience sustaining procedures which meet the FOD, Tool Control, Ground Safety and other requirements of the specification.
Related experience showing evidence of increased responsibilities in manufacturing, inventory or property management.
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Equivalent field preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office and/or manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
May work extended hours or weekends.
May be exposed to noise and hazardous chemicals.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
0-15% - May be required between KUAS locations.
